England, France & Belgium

Day four on the Road to 2021 ultimately saw the start of the team’s journey in mainland Europe after covering the UK and Ireland. Setting off after an overnight rest in the Victorian spa town of Harrogate, Yorkshire, the team headed south through England to the famous university city of Cambridge, then down to the southeast corner of the UK in Kent.

The team did interviews with Vectura Group at Cambridge Science Park and Centaur Biopharmaceutical Services on the banks of the River Thames in Dartford. It was dusk by this time, so an evening crossing to France on the Eurotunnel followed, and they closed out the day with a drive into Belgium to finish in Brussels – the nation's capital and also de facto capital of the European Union. What better place to kick off our journey around the continent?
