Massachusetts /// New York

Our journey begins in Cambridge, Massachusetts, home to a thriving biotech industry and the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council, located at the heart of the city’s aptly named Technology Square. If all goes according to plan, we will spend the day learning from our New England sponsors the events that have defined their individual journeys to the BIO International Convention and, if time permits, exploring some of the rich history that New England has to offer.

MassBio

For over 30 years, the Cambridge-based nonprofit organization, MassBio, has provided services and support for the world’s leading life science organizations, today representing over 975 biotechnology organizations. According to research by U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics published on MassBio.org, Massachusetts has a higher number of Biotechnology Research and Development jobs than any other state.

Biotech in Boston

Second only to the San Francisco bay area as one of the largest and fastest growing biotech hubs in the world, we can think of no better place than the greater Boston area to kick off the Road to BIO, a journey drawing parallels from history, science, and culture to mirror the journey from discovery to commercialization.

We’ll check back in this afternoon from New York with more #RoadtoBIO updates on our journey toward #BIO2017In the meantime, check out today's sponsor on the Road to BIO, the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO).
