Fáilte go dtí An Bóthar go hÉirinn!*

The fourth installment of our epic Road To series begins! Over two weeks we’re covering over 1,000 miles of Irish landscape, and we start in the country’s capital, Dublin, at Trinity College. Over 400 years old, the iconic Trinity College Dublin is Ireland’s leading university. On this storied campus we visited the Book of Kells in the Old Library and had the great opportunity to interview Trinity College, School of Pharmacy professors Sakis Mantalaris (Chairman Panoz Family Foundation) and John Gilmer (Head of the School of Pharmacy). Also on the lush grounds of Trinity, we spoke with Gary McAuslan (CEO and Co-Founder of aCGT Vector), Hiren Patel (Head Sales EMEA of Accellix) and Christian Aguilera-Sandoval (Applications Manager of Accellix). After some fun with the DeLorean — and its fans — the team headed to The Pioneer Group to speak with Venture Development Director Ayokunmi Ajetunmobi, PhD. In true Road To fashion, Day 1 was packed and there were two more stops to go. First we interviewed PharmaLex’s Jane Lyons (Country Manager/European Regional Coordinator for QMC VDC) and Kate Coleman (Senior Director/Principal). At St James's Hospital, Ireland’s largest acute academic teaching hospital, we learned some Irish and ran into old friend Haig Armaghanian. Then Nigel and the team spoke with Dr. Larry Bacon and Pat Byrne, a CAR-T patient. Sláinte (cheers) to a successful Day 1! Join us day by day as the team experiences the beautiful and innovative country that is Ireland. *Welcome to the Road to Ireland!

SEE YOU ON THE ROAD

OUR SPONSORS

Gary McAuslan, CEO of aCGT Vector, talks to Nigel Walker about his company’s current focus on providing a manufacturing platform network for cancer therapies. They discuss the growing impact of CAR-T, the last 10 years of success with these therapies, and how aCGT Vector is working to deploy these treatments to a wider range of patients more quickly and potentially at lower cost.
