Yusho Kato is Manager of the Bio-Pharma Research Laboratories at Kaneka Corporation in Japan. He holds an M.Sc. in molecular biology from Kyoto University and has spent over 17 years at Kaneka working in industrial biocatalysis. His experience spans enzyme process design, enzyme screening, process development, scale-up studies, and the start-up of commercial production, and he has contributed to the launch of more than ten new products. His current work focuses on combining Kaneka's proprietary enzyme libraries and wet-lab data with AI-driven enzyme engineering and novel enzyme discovery to deliver faster, more cost-effective biocatalytic processes for pharmaceutical manufacturing.
