Stephen Born leads Scientific Affairs at CONTINUUS Pharmaceuticals, where he focuses on identifying, developing, and implementing innovative unit operations for the integrated continuous manufacturing (ICM) of both small molecule pharmaceuticals and biologics. His work spans technical strategy, breakthrough process innovation, and close collaboration with industry partners to advance manufacturing capabilities. He also plays a key role in working with clients to address complex pharmaceutical manufacturing challenges. Stephen has been involved with continuous manufacturing since its early days, contributing to the MIT/Novartis Center for Continuous Manufacturing, the initiative from which CONTINUUS originated. He previously served as a visiting scientist at Novartis. He holds a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of California, San Diego, and dual BS degrees in chemistry and molecular biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
