Society for Clinical Research Sites Announces Winning Sponsor and CRO of 2017 Eagle Award — Eli Lilly and INC Research/InVentiv Health

ELLICOTT CITY, MD.Oct. 9, 2017  The Society for Clinical Research Sites (SCRS) announced to over 900 attendees at its 2017 Global Site Solutions Summit that Eli Lilly is the winning sponsor of the 2017 Sponsor Eagle Award, and INC Research/inVentiv Health garnered honors as the winning CRO.

Since 2009, the annual SCRS Eagle Award has recognized the sponsor and CRO organizations that are dedicated to creating positive relationships with sites, as voted on by the sites. Winners are judged according to their outstanding leadership, professionalism, integrity, operational excellence and dedication to advancing the clinical research profession through a strong site partnership.

This year's winners were chosen from a record number of nominations from SCRS members and finalist were selected by sites from around the globe.

"The winners of the 2017 Eagle Award were determined exclusively by votes cast by sites," stated SCRS president Christine Pierre. "The Eagle Award reflects an eagerness to honor and appreciate the sponsor and CRO who have demonstrated outstanding working relationships with sites. SCRS congratulates Eli Lilly and INC Research/inventive Health for their efforts in raising industry standards in establishing strong partnerships with clinical trials sites."

The selection criteria for finalists included a willingness to collaborate on protocol design and execution, availability of qualified staff to support the sites, financial consideration to the sites, and potential for future partnership. SCRS members nominated the sponsor and CRO they had worked with in the past 18 months that they believed best exemplified these characteristics. The final nominees were sponsors and CROs that ranked in the 75th percentile or higher of initial nominations.

In addition to Eli Lilly, this year's sponsor finalists for the Eagle Award were: AbbVie, AstraZeneca, GlaxoSmithKline, Merck, Novo Nordisk, Purdue Pharma, and Sanofi.

Joining INC Research/inVentiv Health the 2017 CRO finalists were: ICON, PRA Health Sciences, and QuintilesIMS.

The 2018 Site Solutions Summit will be held October 11-14, 2018 at the Boca Raton Resort and Club, a Waldorf Astoria Resort in Boca Raton, Florida.
