Day 12: Legendary Cars, Off-Roading, and Pitstops in Newcastle

Meeting the Man Behind Hollywood's Muscle Cars

Day 12 of Road to the Max: Australia brought us to Newcastle for a thrilling day filled with cars, off-roading, and unexpected pitstops. Our first stop was at Cameron’s shop, where we met the man responsible for building, restoring, and maintaining some of the most iconic cars in TV and film. Cameron’s work on the Mad Max: Fury Road Interceptors and parts for Furiosa solidified his reputation as one of the top mechanics in the industry. He’s also collaborated with the Fast & Furious franchise, helping bring high-octane action to the big screen.

Port Macquarie-Bound

After an amazing tour of Cameron’s workshop, we took the support vehicle out for an off-road adventure in Anna Bay—until the park rangers intervened and called it quits. Just when we thought our day couldn’t get more eventful, a blown tire on the support trailer added another repair stop to the list. With the car patched up, we’re back on the road and heading toward Port Macquarie for the next leg of our journey. Stay with us as we continue our journey through Australia’s automotive and life sciences landscapes on the Road to the Max: Australia!
