The Road to Ireland’s first morning waking up outside Dublin. While the others caught up on some sleep (and work) Phill, George, and Mark were excited to breathe in the fresh Irish country air. An early morning wander through the Dundalk countryside led the guys to the ruins of Castle Roche, the Hill of Faughart, and the Proleek Dolmen. After a morning filled with sightseeing, it was time to pick up the rest of the crew and set out for the day. The team’s first interview of the day was at Wuxi Biologics’ beautiful brand new facility in Dundalk. There we had the pleasure of interviewing Brendan McGrath, the Ireland Site Head and VP of Manufacturing. Brendan was kind enough to walk the team around Wuxi’s campus, and we even got a few snaps of the DeLorean looking nice and shiny. As the team traveled to Galway, Nigel and Lucas learned of one of the DeLorean’s shortcomings: no AC. Luckily their next stop would make them forget all about their travel woes. With the crystal blue sea behind them, we couldn’t have dreamt up a more stunning backdrop for our interview with Hi-Tech Health’s Managing Director, Brian Harrison. After enjoying the view it was time to head to that night’s resting spot: Galway City.
Brendan McGrath, Vice President of Manufacturing and Ireland Site Head at WuXi Biologics, talks to Nigel Walker about WuXi Biologics’ mission to locally replicate existing technology from China in other markets, closing the distance between suppliers and the market in order to reduce long supply chains and make treatments more easily available worldwide.
