From the Old North State to the northern states and the mountains
Day 44 meant that there was only seven days left on The Road to 50 States, and the crew was definitely feeling like they were on the home stretch. They would continue to move north towards home after a fairly static previous day because of the number of interviews, but the main business on this one would still be in the Old North State. With so much industry activity in the RTP area, the team had further visits and interviews at Heat Biologics in Morrisville and Icagen in Durham on the agenda. After these fruitful stops, where they talked more high science, they finally had to depart North Carolina and actually took a route that flirted with Tennessee before going through Virginia and on to their next destination, which was the capital of West Virginia. It was their second Charleston in a few days, but that's what happens when you dance to the tune of The Road to 50 States.
