Life sciences Mardi Gras on an October Friday in New Orleans
Having taken a couple of days to come through Texas, the team on The Road to 50 States were happy to know that they had a far smaller distance to travel on Day 33 to take them from New Orleans, Louisiana to Jackson, Mississippi. This allowed them most of the day to enjoy the sights and sounds of The Big Easy – high on many people's lists of cities to enjoy in America. It is famed for its music, cuisine, diversity, culture, and carnivals, but the region is also known for its strong representation in life sciences. Two companies that the team spent time with in New Orleans – Revolo Biotherapeutics and Obatala Sciences – are innovative businesses at the cutting edge of new frontiers in pharma. They mixed this with some touring around the famous French Quarter and other historic parts of the city, and were able to leave it late to complete the couple of hundred miles to Jackson, Mississippi. This still required one late Tesla charge, but this was more preparatory for the next day than a necessity like previous nights.
