Friendly encounters then told to take a hike in Arizona
Things get truly heated in Phoenix, known as the Valley of the Sun in the desert region of Arizona, but in fact it was a relaxing, enjoyable time for the team on The Road to 50 States. It's the most populous state capital in the nation and the fifth most populated city, so no trouble finding friends, and a rooftop restaurant played host to a reunion with some of Adama's former New York friends and none other than Lucas' brother. The team also had a warm welcome from three Phoenix-based organizations, conducting interviews at Calviri, OncoMyx Therapeutics and the Arizona Bioindustry Association (AZBio). Then it was time to hit the wilds of the west, as someone had the idea to hike up Camelback Mountain and South Mountain. The summits gave them amazing vistas of the desert region on a day with clear blue skies. A few of the team did seem to be breathing a bit at the top, but we'll put the gasping down to the spectacular views.
