12.1 Study Methodology
12.1.1 We performed a comprehensive search to find all firms worldwide that manufacture protein biologics on a contract basis using mammalian cell culture. We have included firms that perform GMP culture for mammalian cell (such as CHO or HEK), or insect cells. Insect cell capabilities are noted because firms with CHO or HEK capabilities could also perform insect cell culture. Most firms clearly indicate if their installed reactors are for mammalian or microbial cultures, but where there is doubt, we included the contractors in both the mammalian and microbial biologics reports. We have noted stainless or single-use reactors where the information is available.
12.1.2 To create this report, we reached out to every single firm listed in this profile section. We spoke with some on numerous occasions to create the rest of the report, but many were simply contacted by us with a request to confirm the profile presented here.
