The Road to BIO: Overcoming Adversity

We are going on the Road to BIO from June 8th – June 19th.

Our road trip may kick off in less than a week, but our journey has been 22 years in the making.

After more than two decades in strategic marketing for the life sciences, we’ve gained a pretty good understanding of the approaches that meet the needs of global companies, and have developed scalable methodologies around these tested strategies. And while we’ve encountered our fair share of adversity along the way, we’ve continuously built upon the knowledge gained from each experience to progressively deliver new value to clients.

As we embark upon the Road to BIO, we’ve been thinking a lot about what wins through adversity. With drug development being arguably the best representation of this phenomenon, which we’ll be discussing with our life science sponsors on the route, we hope to discover along our journey a few historical symbols as well.

Monumental Significance
National monuments, most often established by the President of the United States through the Antiquities Act, are named to protect icons of cultural or otherwise historical significance. Weather has eroded the original state of many of these structures, highlighting the fact that they have seen — and prevailed through — generations of adversity. We’ve outlined a number of examples along the Road to BIO, which we hope to capture as representations of standing tall in the face of adversity.

Breaking Barriers
Factoring in the myriad of challenges pharma’s leaders face across the biopharmaceutical landscape, drug development, which the FDA outlines in five steps, can take upwards of 14 years — 5,110 days — to complete. And while the Road to BIO will be 12 days in theory, the length of our journey will vary greatly depending on the number of roadblocks we face — and overcome — to cross the finish line to BIO 2017.

Join us along our journey and help us guess the final stats by taking the Road to BIO Challenge detailed below. And don’t forget to stop by #BIO2017 booth #1019 see how we fared!
