The Road to BIO 2017

That’s Nice will Drive from Boston to San Diego for BIO International 2017.

In solidarity with our life science clients who are breaking barriers to reach new heights in drug development, That’s Nice is embarking on a 12-day cross-country journey toward BIO International, the biotech industry’s largest global event. The trip will mirror the journey of a promising drug candidate, placing particular emphasis on the importance of speed-to-market while highlighting the myriad challenges that can inhibit the effort.

The trip, dubbed the Road to BIO, will take place from June 8-19, 2017. Starting in Cambridge, MA, a five-person team of That’s Nice staff will travel through 18 states—down the east coast and across the south — ending in San Diego, CA in time for BIO 2017. The driver, That’s Nice Founder and Managing Director, Nigel Walker, will lead the journey in a 217-max-speed Lamborghini Aventador Roadster, supported by a team comprising filmography, editorial, scientific research, account management, and security staff.

Inspiration for the Road to BIO was drawn from the organizations that are breaking ground in drug development, and the adversities they must consistently overcome to bring a new pharmaceutical drug to market. To highlight this resilience, the That’s Nice team will be stopping along the way to speak with these companies, discussing industry trends impacting their varying journeys toward BIO, and what the Road to BIO represents for pharma innovators across the country.

From regulatory changes to bioavailability issues, speeding tickets to flat tires, the Road to BIO, like drug development, will be a long, sometimes arduous journey culminating in what is hoped to be a successful, on-time delivery.
