The Road to BIO: Day 4

Tennessee /// South Carolina
Here we are in Tennessee — or is it Virginia? Apparently, it is both. The twin cities of Bristol, VA and Bristol, TN are divided in half by the Virginia/Tennessee state line.
Speedway To Market
An interview with UPM Pharmaceuticals took our Road to BIO to the northern reaches of Tennessee. With a theme of speed to market, the opportunity to stop by the Bristol Motor Speedway for that meet-up was too good to miss. Nobody in biopharmaceuticals likes to go round the track too many times but when you have a Lamborghini, there’s a great temptation. From there, we’re headed to Charleston, so we have to cross the Blue Ridge Mountains into North Carolina, and flirt with Charlotte before crossing state lines again into South Carolina. We have many clients in North Carolina, as it’s an ever-expanding hub for biopharmaceuticals.
DISTANCE SCHEDULED THIS MORNING: 173 miles
Friday Afternoon Recap
The afternoon of the second day took us from southern New Jersey into Pennsylvania. We made two of our shortest hops on #RoadtoBIO, initially from Millstone, New Jersey to Bristol, Pennsylvania. But by this time, we were realizing how easy it is to fall behind on the journey, despite the best of planning and intentions. We were simply at capacity with five interviews booked. So we worked hard to keep the customer informed, and had all our experts focused on working round the problem and keeping to the timeline going forward. With the day being this loaded, we stayed overnight in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania and would head to the capital the next morning through Maryland, home of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Lamborghini Sterling, VA
Our glitter-wrapped Aventador has sparked a lot of conversation on the Road to BIO, but it was par for the course for the pros at Lamborghini Sterling as we pulled in for a safety check. And it's a good thing we did – the service was critical because as it turns out, the fluids had micro particles of metal, which could have seriously compromised the engine if ignored. Keeping with the theme of accelerated delivery, our tech, Dave, did what is normally an eight-hour job in about two – a new record!
Nigel Walker, That’s Nice Founder and Managing Director, and Albert Bruan, That's Nice Business Logistics Manager, make a pit stop on the Road to BIO for a fluid check in Sterling, Virginia
The Lamborghini Aventador is on the lift for a quick safety check before we hit the road to Tennessee this evening
Thanks to our friends at Lamborghini Sterling for keeping the Road to BIO going
