Intertek Groups Expands Offerings with the Acquisition of Alchemy Systems

The acquisition builds in “People Assurance” for Intertek.

Intertek Group is a UK-based company that provides assistance in Total Quality Assurance to companies in many industrial sectors that are located around the globe. The $3+-billion can trace its routes back 130 years to a company founded by Thomas Edison. Today the firm provides Assurance, Testing, Inspection and Certification services.

The acquisition of training software and service provider Alchemy Systems expands Intertek’s global Assurance business into People Assurance. Specifically, the addition of Alchemy will make it possible for Intertek to help companies mitigate safety risks and increase operational efficiency through effective training, communications, and operational programs.

Alchemy’s training software and courses have been used by leading food and retail companies around the world, including Kellogg’s, Ocean Spray, JBS, Pilgrim’s, Shake Shack, The Home Depot, Tillamook, SoulCycle, and Macy’s.

“Alchemy’s unique focus on frontline workforce training is critical for safety and operational execution,” said André Lacroix, Intertek Group CEO. “Our combined solution will provide companies with a higher level of quality assurance and with greater peace of mind.”

Alchemy CEO Jeff Eastman added: “We are delighted to join the Intertek Group. Intertek’s global presence and deep expertise in Total Quality Assurance will enable us to expand our solutions and further accelerate our international growth.”
