Damien Marsic, head of AAV platform development at Porton Advanced Solutions, developed expertise in capsid library design and directed evolution while at the University of Florida in the laboratory of Sergei Zolotukhin. He then led an AAV platform development team at AstraZeneca for over two years before joining Porton in 2020. Damien Marsic authored 24 scientific articles, including nine in the AAV field (two more are currently in preparation), and is a co-inventor in nine patents (three granted and six pending) related to AAV capsid engineering. He is also a skilled bioinformatician, maintaining six open-source projects at GitHub and one Bioconda package.
